WEDNESDAY WOW – IT’S A BOY!!
Astrological similarities run in families. It is known as ‘Chart Signatures’ and this is something which has always fascinated me. Great brains, like psychiatrist Dr. Carl Jung, and Hippocrates, the Father of Medicine, were huge proponents of Astrology as a means of determining one’s character. When it comes to the Royal Family, this is very much in evidence, especially so in the birth chart of the Royal newbie, ‘Baby Sussex’. (If they asked me, I would have suggested naming him Arthur or Philip.)
The backbone, and most important elements of any birth chart, are the sun sign, rising sign, and moon sign — these three alone reveal a multitude. In the case of the newbie Little Prince, both his sun and rising signs are in stable, earthy Taurus, hence the term ‘double Taurus’ and his moon sign is in charming, airy Gemini, adding a little levity to the situation! He’ll be musical for sure!
Arthur, as I like to call this solid little man (lol) is a good astrological mix of both his parents. Lots of Yin and Yang going on within him, which is a good thing in some ways, but down the road this dichotomy within him may confuse potential amours – but that’s a long way away! Baby Sussex is quite a bag of contradictions and I predict, like his parents, will be part of a sea of change in the Monarchy. His Mum is a strong Leo, and his Dad a more placid Virgo, so it’s only natural he is going to inherit little bits of both their personalities, which is exactly what he has done! And so the story begins…
His solid Taurus sun is the part he inherited from the Windsors. Harry is a Virgo, with a moon in Taurus. In addition, Queen Elizabeth is a Taurus and Queen Victoria was born on the Taurus/Gemini cusp (sun sign Gemini). Prince Philip is a Gemini. Prince Charles has a strong moon in Taurus, and Lady Diana had a strong venus in Taurus, which she passed on to William. Two of Kate and William’s children are Taurus. At a risk of understatement, you can see, the bullish sign of Taurus flows deeply in the astrological bloodline of the British Royal family, which is why they have such tremendous staying power, despite all the ups and downs of life. Taurus is a sign of stability and traditional family values, as Queen Elizabeth has so stoically displayed in her years as a Loyal Royal. I’m a big fan of hers.
Now, let’s look at what Baby Sussex has inherited from his strong fiery American Leo Mum, Meghan. (Here enters the fun rebel part!) If he was purely all earth, it would be a problem for Meghan, as they definitely would butt heads. Both are fixed and determined signs. Fortunately for Meghan, her Little Prince has a generous amount of fire and air in his chart, just like she has. He has his mercury and venus both in the fire sign of Aries, so this will put a generous amount of oomph in his engine and help him get on well with her sun and mercury in Leo. Curiously, Queen Elizabeth also has her mercury in Aries, and she is known for her lightening quick wit.
In addition, he has both his moon and mars in Gemini, so he will be quite the orator! In fact, I predict he will WOO the world with his charm and oratorial skills. Gemini is also the sign of his Great Grandfather, Prince Philip. Queen Victoria was also born a Gemini, but born near Taurus – talk about keeping it in the family! Meghan also has her moon in an air sign, Libra, as did Lady Diana, whose moon was in Aquarius. People born with their moon sign in an air element display their emotions through conversation and curiosity.
Baby Sussex has some planets in the strong, conventional sign of Capricorn, sitting in the 10th house of career, so this young man will take his responsibilities very seriously indeed! However, his Pluto in Capricorn in the 10th house could see him bucking the system somewhat. His early childhood (behind the scenes) will be painful for him in some ways, much of which he will internalize with all that 12th house stuff going on. In the early days as he is developing, I can see him disappearing with a book under a bed! Or feeling a great need for privacy to sort out his feelings.
Talk about feelings, he has virtually no water element in his chart, so expressing his feelings is something he will find very difficult indeed. That is par for the British Royal course one must admit! And this is where the dichotomy part comes in! On the one hand, his placid Taurus ear tells him to toe the line, behave himself and be a good boy. And then his feisty, combative, Aries mercury and venus ear will tell him to b(f)uck the system, and the Fascist regime! It will be interesting to see how he marries the two voices within him. His Chiron, the pain body, is also in truth-loving, honest Aries, so clearly his area of pain will be in asserting himself, having his true voice heard. This will be a lifelong challenge for him. With so many voices within him, telling him different things, is it any wonder confusion may reign within this outwardly charming little man?
In a Royal nut shell, the Little Prince has inherited all the sass, charm, and system bucking personalities of his parents, Harry and Meghan. In addition, he carries within him all the loyalty, duty, and stability of the Windsors. He is a classic example of the synchronicity of Astrology. And the great news is, he will get on famously with his cousins, George, Charlotte, and Louis! He will definitely keep the ‘the Firm’ (as Lady Diana called it) chugging along nicely, and keep us all charmed and amused! Three out of the four current great-grandchildren are all Taurus, the same sign as Queen Elizabeth – now that is astrologically telling if ever!
Well Done and Congratulations to Harry and Meghan!

MONDAY MUSINGS: TO THINE OWN SELF BE TRUE!
Last Thursday, at my friend Joan’s 80th birthday party, I asked her if she had any words of wisdom to share with the group. She thought about it for a second, and then with great panache began reciting Shakespeare:
“This above all – to thine own self be true, and it must follow, as night follows day, thou canst not then be false to any man.”
The above quote was also a favourite of my grandmother’s. Hearing it again made me think about my own life, and the importance of being true to oneself. Leafing through a magazine today as I sat sweating it out in an infrared sauna, the same idea popped forth from a page. The author this time was Martha Beck who posed the question ‘Do you ever feel like your life is living you?’ giving the reader an honest-to-goodness way to rediscover true joy. That piqued my interest, so I continued to read. The bottom line as far as Ms. Beck is concerned is honesty with self, and with others. She said humans lie better than any other creatures on earth and we pay a huge price for that! (“Of course I don’t mind” “Oh, I’m fine” “Sure, I’d love to”).
She suggests a mental cleanse; one day of total inner honesty. The path to integrity turns inward before it leads outward. Get a pen, a timer, some paper and get writing! Allow yourself 30 minutes. The big question to ask yourself is ‘Am I living my deepest truth now’. You may feel a twitch of nerves or a wisp of sadness. Truth is like a wild animal. If it has been attacked or suppressed, it may take some time to show itself! ‘
The older I get, the more vital I find it is to be honest with self. Time is running out. I no longer want to waste it with people I have nothing in common with, who don’t share my values, or accept me for who I am. This is something I have struggled with for many years. My passion for Astrology has raised some eyebrows I might add! The joy and support I get from my Faith is something which has isolated me further from people who don’t understand. But Hey! I am what I am! Don’t question my beliefs, accept me for who I am, be open-minded, non-judgemental, kind, humorous, good fun, and Yes, I will be happy to have a coffee with you some day. Otherwise, MYOB! After years of doing what Ms. Beck suggests, I have finally reached the Promised Land. And the view up here I might add, is glorious and free!
The reward for all this self-honesty is you’ll find yourself doing what you love, with people you love, in places you love. So, without further ado – Go Be Your Authentic Self! To Thine Own Self Be True. Only YOU know what that means.
Hugs Galore,

FASHION FRIDAY: SPRING IS IN THE AIR!
TGIF Boomerbabes!
Today, I drew my inspiration from mother nature and French crooner Joe Dassin’s song Les Champs-Elysees. It is such a joyful quintessentially French chanson. It brings back happy memories of my time living in Paris. There is no place in the world like Paris in the Springtime. Of course, the second best place is Victoria!
Baby pink is the colour for Spring. It matches my glorious Magnolia tree! The following are my favourite Spring coats and jacket. I wear them all the time and like my decorations, I take them out each Spring!
Look 1:
I love this soft grey Aritzia coat. My daughter Victoria bought it for me last year. I added the pink faux fur collar which I bought at Club Monaco in the January sales. I move the fur around different outfits. Got it for a steal and love it. The coat being so light will transition nicely into the Summer.
Look 2:
I got this blush pink trench coat 3 years ago at Topshop in the Bay, Vancouver. It was a size too big for me but at 70% off the original price, I was happy to tighten that belt! I think that colour and style never go out of fashion. It is also nice and warm as here in Victoria, there is still a nip in the air!
Look 3:
Love this Design Lab pink jacket. The sleeves attracted me. It is such a versatile jacket. You can dress it up with a nice cream sweater and pants, or dress it down with denims. Perfect style and colour for Spring! I teamed it up with a cute neck scarf which I bought in Ireland. I like the flirty little pop of pink!
Look 4:
I bought this gorgeous baby pink silk blouse in a consignment shop. It was never worn. Original price was over $140. I got it for $24! A bargain if ever! It is from Tatum & Olivia, the store I loved which has sadly closed down. I thought the addition of a hot pink scarf around the waist, hot pink earrings, and hot pink bangle added a little bit of oomph to the outfit! It even matches my hall door wreath!
Fashion tip of the week:
Remember, it’s not the years in your clothes, it’s how you accessorize!
Hugs,

TAURUS – STARLET OF THE MONTH!
“For beautiful eyes, look for the good in others, for beautiful lips, speak only words of kindness; and for poise, walk with the knowledge that you are never alone.”
~Audrey Hepburn
If you have some Taurus friends, I bet you’ll agree with me that there are three words which sum up their characters perfectly: sensual, security-conscious, and solid! I just love that practical, loyal, peaceful, composed, creative, generous, and earthy side to their nature. They are also fantastic cooks and have a fabulous sense of humour! The words ‘Material Girl’ were crafted with Taurus in mind! Is it any wonder then that the Bull is the symbol for money on Wall Street! Taurus is the money sign. They work hard for it, and they spend it with equal passion. They have a special flair for handling money, and usually do very well in business, accountancy, and banking. They like to see things grow, whether it is money or plants.
In its journey through the zodiac, Taurus is the second sign. At the second stage, man needs to consolidate what has been initiated in the First. He is trying to establish himself securely while enjoying the fruits of his labours. Its symbol is the bull’s head; or the Earth Goddess holding the Moon between her horns. Taurus is a feminine, earth, fixed sign, so everything about them suggests they are builders shaping ideas into concrete form, laying foundations, putting down roots. Because it is an earth sign, many Taureans also have a passion for gardening, farming, and working close to nature.
I feel calm whenever I am around Taureans because they are so grounded in their bodies, and don’t like to be rushed. They make amazing nurses, beauty therapists, hair stylists and massage therapists because they are SO connected to the body. Taurean William Shakespeare and I would have been great buddies! He could recite poetry to me all day long, and I’d never get bored! As for Taurus George Clooney…I wouldn’t kick him out of the bed!
But this blog is about the Taurus Starlet, that sensual, gorgeous, stylish woman with expensive tastes. When you think Taurus, visualize if you will stylish, elegant ladies like Audrey Hepburn, Cate Blanchett, Barbra Streisand, Jessica Alba, Tori Spelling, Kelly Clarkson, Megan Fox, Melania Trump, etc. You get the picture! The body part ruled by Taurus is the throat, so many are formidable singers, as in Kelly Clarkson, Barbra Streisand and Adele. Can’t you just hear that deep earthiness in their voices? They put their bodies and souls into their music and into everything they do, which is why they are so successful. Every single one of those aforementioned Starlets work hard for the money! Even Melania Trump. No free meals there!
In relationships, the Taurus Starlet is slow to demonstrate her feelings, but once she feels she can trust you, that you have a good heart, share similar values, are hard working, loyal, and ambitious like her, she will start to open up more. Remember, you never rush a Taurus! Never! They will do exactly what they want to do, when they want to do it. Not before! Best matches for Taurus I have found are the water signs of Cancer, Pisces, and polar opposite sign, Scorpio. Fellow earth signs, Virgo and Capricorn are also very compatible. If you are a Taurus reading this and are in a relationship with either a fire or an air sign, it is likely you have fire or air in your chart, so worth getting your charts analysed. Lots of free sites on the internet for this! www.alabe.com being one. Just put in your birth details. If you don’t have a time of birth, put in 12.00 p.m. — that way you will only be a few hours off! Astrologers who don’t have a time of birth as a rule of thumb put in 12.00 p.m.
To sum up this gorgeous earthy sensual Venusian (Taurus, like Libra is ruled by Venus) here goes:
Happy Side:
Determined, feeling, practical, affectionate, agreeable, constructive, consistent, dependable, dogged enduring, kindly, patient, persistent, stoical, tolerant, creative – and a great cook!!
Sorry or Shadow Side:
Acquisitive, greedy, inflexible, obtuse, over-possessive, self-indulgent, stubborn, tactless.
Don’t worry Taurus, everybody has a shadow side! Notice the happy side outweighs the sorry side!
THE BIG THING HAPPENING ASTROLOGICALLY FOR TAURUS – AND IT IS BIG!
On May 15th, Uranus, the planet of change and all things unpredictable, moves into Taurus, for the first time in 76 years – that is BIG! It leaves fiery Aries after its 8 year reign. It will remain in Taurus until 2026 so it will be interesting to see how that pans out for you. Shall we say expect the unexpected! Be prepared to be prodded into making some changes in your life. It’s ALL good! The house your Sun sign of Taurus sits in your chart will be definitely activated. Do check out that free site to see! It will be interesting. Google for yourselves what it will mean for you having Uranus in Taurus. It would be pages for me to discuss here, and I know from blogging – keep it as short as possible!
If you want to know how to dress – just look at Melania. I think her dress sense is gorgeous. She knows what suits her body – most of the time! Jessica Alba is no slacker either, nor is Cate Blanchett or Megan Fox!
Some other ideas I chose for you from Pinterest!
Green and earthy tones really suit the Taurus woman and it matches your birthstone which is the Emerald!
Feminine lace with butch leather boots – now that is Taurus to me!
A girly girl in polka dot!
Rose is your flower, so I can just see a feminine Taurus lady wearing the above dress!
The last two gorgeous girls are wearing those earthy tones that look fabulous on Taurus!
EnJOY and HAPPY BIRTHDAY TAURUS!
