This Too Shall Pass…

No, it’s not you — this time you can blame it on the pesky planets, and boy are they ever pesky these days!! Today was a particularly unpleasant day from a planetary perspective. Mars (action man), Saturn (pain), and Neptune (confusion) are all locked in a t-square in the mutable signs. So what does that mean in layman’s language? you may well ask. It means that those of you trying to move forward with plans, work, and decisions could be caught in a battle with others. There is much pain, confusion, and fear floating in the air. Did you notice that today? A resounding Yes from me on that one!

In addition we have another T-Square battle going on with the Cardinal signs. The Sun, Moon, Mercury, Uranus, and Pluto are locked in another T-Square which is even nastier than the Mars/Saturn/Neptune one — add to that the fact that Mercury is still retrograde and will continue to be so until October 9th. Yikes!!

Stay grounded, practise mindfulness, keep your gob shut, stop, look, and listen… Put on your ammunition, face the battle with strength and courage, be true to yourself at all times, but most especially PRAY!

Stay away from trouble until this planetary storm has lifted. Remember, this too shall pass…!!

Hugs,
Patricia

One day at a time…

These past few weeks have been really difficult for some people I know. There have been a few deaths, and in each case young people in their 50’s — young by my standard at least!! I was putting together a little care package to send to Katie and Joey in Calgary whose beautiful and loving mother died recently at age 55. I found this comforting little book in our local Christian book store. It is called ‘Grief Therapy’ by Karen Katafiasz. I love it because the wisdom contained within it is simple and easy to digest.

Herewith, I will share a few suggestions from the book, which may help if you are grieving the loss of a loved one, or it could be a relationship which went South…or a pet’s passing — or any loss for that matter!

Respect the power of grief. Know that it can affect you psychologically, physically, and spiritually in intense and sometimes surprising ways. Stay gentle with yourself.

Tackle the emptiness. When you feel that your loss has drained your life of all direction or meaning or joy, present your nothingness to God. God has never been closer. Ask not ‘Why?’ but rather ‘What?’ is the meaning God wants you to take from this loss.

Stay connected to others. You need their presence, their support, their concern, their listening, their hugs. You need not be alone in your grief.

Be with those who are also grieving. As you tell your stories, you will share an understanding of the heart that is deeper than words.

Let your grief be personal. In a letter, a poem, a drawing, a journal entry — or even in an imaginary conversation with the one you have lost (I keep a photo of my Dad in the kitchen and talk to him regularly!) Pour out the feelings you may never have had the chance to express. This will foster healing.

Celebrate your loved one with your own memories and the memories that others share with you. This celebration will keep your loved one with you and a part of you always. Celebrate your deceased loved one’s birthday, Have their photo on a Christmas tree decoration, etc.

Sometimes the best thing to do is to comfort yourself with small pleasures: a cup of tea, freshly cut flowers, a soothing bath or a good book, moments by the fire…

Time really does heal…just take it One-day-at-a-time!

Hugs,

Patricia

It’s That Time of Year Again…!!

Yes, life truly is a roller coaster of transitions — ups and down, highs and lows, yin and yang, joy and sadness, sunshine and rain, and the list goes on…

As the last rose of summer begins her winter journey, and the leaves start to fall from the trees, we too are now beginning our own winter hibernation, determined by the increasingly cooler climate. Our clothing colours are also in sync with the beautiful autumnal scenery — burnt orange, burgundy and olive green hues have replaced the bright white, turquoise, hot pink, and cheery summer yellows.

We’re piling up the logs in the shed for cosy winter fires. Mr. squirrel is busy getting himself organized too. Yes, in this current industrious season of Virgo, we’re all busy, either back at school, booking night classes, re-organizing our closets and homes for the winter and getting ready for Christmas — you know the drill — which brings me to the next topic, the subject of this blog — Mercury Retrograde!!

This is the third and last Mercury retrograde of the year and shall run its course starting today, September 17th until October 9th. This current one is in the air sign of Libra, which is the High Priestess of Communications! Since Mercury rules commerce, computers, telephones, transportation, and air travel and Libra rules charming communications, I’m getting the feeling this MR is one where we will all have to zip the lip, including Donald Trump — especially Mr. T or he is going to live to regret his loose lips! I’ll have to text the Donald and remind him that ‘Loose Lips Sink Ships!’ He would not want that to happen in his current Presidential campaign, which by the end of this 3 week MR reign, I fear may happen…!!

It’s a good year for Virgos, as can be seen by the stellar performance of Carly Fiorina on the debate last night. Hmm…she is one to watch!! I know I digress but it’s a lucky year for Virgo Carly — remember I said to Virgos ‘Play Big this year‘. I think she listened!

Expect communications to be a little haywire to say the least! Watch your words as verbal aggression may be a side effect of the current Mercury Retrograde in Libra. Relationships will face a ‘make it or break it’ time. Apply due diligence to all your communications, double check the small print, smile before you dial,  and you will be fine! Ride the storm, or be like me and ‘go within’ until Mercury goes direct again on October 9th. It’s a good time for daily mindfulness, yoga, a spiritual retreat, or finishing unfinished projects in preparation for a brand new start!

Also, keep an eye on your investments as Libra is ruled by Venus, which covers money investments and transactions, and this MR is in Libra, so investments may suffer…This too shall pass!

Hope the above helps!

Hugs,

A Royal Occasion!

Well Hello friends,

How are you since last we spoke? I’ve been busy saying goodbye to Summer and getting ready to welcome Fall into my closet. Such happy work!! I love the Fall fashion — probably more than any other season — and of course Halloween is on its way too!!

There was one last great Summer hurrah party at Government House on Saturday to celebrate the Queen’s 62nd year on the throne. Unfortunately, she could not be there, but she was well represented! The fashion was simply spectacular as you will see from the photos. An ocean of beautiful red and purple clad ladies was a feast for the eyes. Hats of every colour and persuasion made for a heady experience!! One girl proudly walked her pet sheep named “Little Lamb”. Happy party revellers danced their cares away while others enjoyed the complimentary food and beverages served.

Even the flowers and plush foliage on the grounds of Government House were dancing to the music — as were the delighted ducks peacefully paddling on the ponds. A great end to what has been a delightful summer. Gracious thanks to her Majesty for providing such fun for her loyal citizens here in Canada!

Hugs from Victoria!

Patricia

This is Your Year to Shine, Virgo — Go Get It!

This is for all you beautiful, modest, hard-working, gentle and kind-hearted Virgo maidens. Your time has come. This is YOUR year to shine — seriously! Jupiter, the planet of good luck and prosperity, transitioned into your sign on August 11th. And the good news is, he is not moving from Virgo — not for a whole year! If I was a Virgo, I would be cracking open the champagne on the strength of that!!

Take it from me — this is a BIG thing! It happens only once every 12 years that you have lucky Jupiter in your sign. It is a year to take a leap of faith, think outside the safe box, take chances, think happy thoughts, be bold, daring, carefree, have fun, laugh, and don’t worry — be happy! Do all the things you wanted to do — within reason of course! It’s a great time to travel — geographically and career-wise.

Make the most of your looks by sticking with the classy, sophisticated, and elegant style which so suits you. You are such a beautiful and kind-hearted soul, you deserve to get some rewards. Below are some style ideas — not that you need them! EnJOY and make the most of this year. Let me know if anything fabulous happens to you! Make a yearly ‘Jupiter Year’ diary to record everything. In my Jupiter year, I moved home, sold my old home in a week, and moved into my dream home! I knew it was a time to take chances! Now, the question to all you beautiful Virgo Maidens is: what chances do you want to take in this, your ‘Jupiter Year’?

Hugs Galore,

Patricia xxx
