Happy Birthday Daddy!

I know you’re in Heaven reading this, and with the grace of God may get to meet my friend Noelle who would have arrived last Saturday around 5.30 pm. You’ll enjoy her. She had a great sense of humour and was a bit on the feisty side. I hope you’ll share a birthday toast together and that she will help you blow out your 89 candles! I shall be lighting one for you in church today.

Heaven must be a very happy place with all the wonderful people like you and Noelle up there. Wish we could still see your bright blue twinkling eyes full of merriment and humour, hear the laughter in your voice,  sit around the kitchen table chatting with tea and tiramisu, the sound of your lawnmower as you worked in your beloved garden and your words of wisdom — ‘leave a leg in it’. All these wonderful memories that I shall forever treasure in my heart.
